Here’s a new ICN video featuring ICN Founder Jill Osborne, summarizing the controversy over the weekend that led Dr. Drew Pinsky to apology to the IC and Endometriosis communities. While it certainly generated a tremendous amount of anger, there is a positive side to it. Patients united in precedented numbers to protest and demand an apology. Patients refuse to accept the minimization of pelvic pain disorders or the assumption that psychiatric care is required.
We are so proud of the IC and endometriosis patient community. You guys ROCKED IT and did an excellent job at education, awareness and protest.

Jill has a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacology and a Masters in Psychology, Jill was named Presidential Management Intern (aka Fellowship) while in graduate school. (She was unable to earn her PhD due to the onset of her IC.) She spends the majority of her time providing WELLNESS COACHING for patients in need and developing new, internet based educational and support tools for IC patients, including new live IC Support Group Meetings via Youtube and the “Living with IC” video series. Jill was diagnosed with IC at the age of 32 but first showed symptoms at the age of 12.

Thank you! I love your video response. It is so uplifting to have someone explain our diagnosis and give the history of IC. I have dealt with many doctors, now in this day and age, who treated me as though my pain was psychosomatic. I have written an open letter to Dr. Drew and I have high hopes that he will read it and possibly reassess his statements.
As of now, Dr. Drew Pinsky’s apology, in my opinion, was not sufficient. He blamed the caller and stated that the fiancé did not have either of these diagnoses without having seen any pathology himself. I worry that his podcast will not include a specialist in this area and will ultimately do more damage.

I have also posted a follow up post and included your video. Thank you so much for your response, it healed some of the wound opened up by Dr. Drew Pinsky’s comments.
