Researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin would like to recruit women who have been diagnosed with IC/BPS and/or MPP to participate in this study looking at the role of the Autonomic Nervous System in Chronic Pelvic Pain. We would like to understand whether the brain circuits that control your body might also be able to alter the response to pain. You must be between 18 and 80 years of age.

What would you be asked to do for this study?

You will be asked to come to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital where you meet with a study physi- cian who will ask you some questions and perform a brief medical exam to see if you are able to help with this study. If you are able to help, you will be asked to complete 5 in-person visits over a period of 6 months, as well complete a set of tasks and ECG recording once a week at home for 24 weeks. During the in-person visits you will be asked to complete question- naires, mobile App questions, a cold- water test, a heart rate test, a breathing test and a uroflow measurement (amount of urine). Most of the above- mentioned evaluations will be con- ducted while you are on a 4-8-4-8 week crossover drug intervention. Please contact the research team below for more details of the study.

How long will this study take?

This study will you take about one day each week for 24 weeks (6 months), in additional to the 5 in- person visits within the same 6-month period.

Do I get paid for helping with this study?

Yes! If you are able to help with this study and you complete all required hospital visits as well as the weekly questionnaires, mobile App questions, and ECG recordings, you will be paid in the form of a check.
