NSAID Surgam Can Trigger IC and Bladder Symptoms
In another variation of chemical irritation, patients struggling with arthritic pain may be prescribed a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, tiaprofenic acid (Surgam), not knowing that it has been known to trigger intense bladder irritation in a small group of patients. Upon stopping the therapy, cystitis usually improves within weeks.
