Okay so i got my labs from my ER visit...

    Advertisement :
Went to the ER friday and will be seeing the urologist tomorrow. The urinalysis they did shows blood in urine (+2), mucus (+3), and BACTERIA (+1)....even though i have no leukocytes or nitrites (all negative), doesn't this mean infection?! Kind of freaking out that he let me go home with a UTI! He claimed my urine was all normal! Has anyone had these types of results????

It doesn't necessarily mean infection, but it's good that you have an appointment tomorrow --- hopefully the urologist will explain the report so you will understand.

If they are doing it in the office, the best advice I can think of is to RELAX. What I do is concentrate on breathing slowly and deeply and consciously relaxing my muscles.

It was supposed to be in the office with local anaesthesia...but the urologist decided that i didn't need it and that its "probably just constipation". I left that office in tears. I feel so lost

This sounds like my doctor. Find a new one! I am sorry you had a rough day. I left the office in tears too after my cystoscopy. He looked said it looked fine and told me thereís nothing else they can do. This situation sucks Iím sorry you have to go through it too.

hella-bomskies and Keblh4: It sounds like both of you could benefit from seeing a different urologist --- in a different office from your current ones. If you scroll to the top of this page and click on ICN Front Page, you'll find a link to locate medical professionals who have been recommended by other IC patients or expressed a desire to treat us.

By the way, my first office cystoscopy showed a bladder that looked normal and healthy, but when it was stretched under anesthesia (hydrodistention), the IC was apparent, complete with tiny Hunner's ulcers.

I agree with Donna. I have IC that was diagnosed under anesthesia and it showed ulcers , glomerations streaks etc.
under regular cystoscopy in the office I am always told my bladder
Looks fine with maybe just a red spot or two.

No --- I was just sharing that an office cysto doesn't necessarily either diagnose or rule out IC. What I meant to suggest is that you work with a doctor you feel listens to you --- It's extremely important to have a doctor who will listen and work with you towards a diagnosis. From your posts, I got the feeling that your current doctors weren't really listening to you.
