    Insurance refused

    Advertisement :
My doctor finally decided to try elmron. He sent it through, and when I went to pick it up the pharmacist told me that the insurance company rejected me. I decided to call them up, and they and I got into an argument and I started swearing at them for the greedy a**** they are. Didn't end right.

I can't afford $600 a month. There is no other country on earth does this happen. At least not in my opinion, I hate the United States with a passion. Everything is sky high. I've had enough, if I had the move to move I WOULD. Not to talk politics, but this is absurd.

    Re: Insurance refused

Please ask your doctor about sending a request to your insurance company for an exception. I have had my insurance deny coverage for medications and allowing payment after my doctor filed for the exceptions. One of the doctors actually has a form letter they use to request exceptions.

Don't give up on it until you talk with your doctor.

    Good luck!

Definitely see if your doctor can help. I just had to have mine pre approved even though I have been taking it for 20+ years. And even then they only pay 50%. It costs me $230/month and I have good insurance. I thought the president was going to negotiate with other countries to make medication prices cheaper. I wish he would get on that.

    Re: Insurance refused

I contacted them again, and they told me it's tier 4 and as a result they won't cover it as it's a brand name. I asked what could I do, they said they would consider it if I got test done in ER instead of just predicting. They won't even pay for that. i started to get loud with the ****. I explained, I realize you greedy **** need to give your CEO bonus of a few million dollars, and how you need to please your stockholders, lobbyists but at least please help your clients from time to time, and I just hung up. I hate greedy ****.

    EDIT:

Doctor sent them a note and still refused.

Is there any way your doctor could do the test? Maybe the insurance idiots just need a certain condition code for their system? I would try every alternative before trying Elmiron. Maybe if you have already done that you can make a list of medications you have tried to show them. I don't get why it has to be so hard.

The drug company has a program that provides elmiron for people who can't afford it, but your doctor must make the request.
