    Is anyone currently pregnant?

    Advertisement :
Hi all. I'm new to this forum. I've been looking for a place to discuss pregnancy and IC but this forum seems to have been a bit quiet lately so I'm not sure if anyone is around.

I was wondering if anyone is currently pregnant and, if so, how they are going?

In particular, has anyone found any effective pain relief/management tools for pregnancy?

I am 7 weeks pregnant (first pregnancy) and already struggling quite a bit. Before this, I didn't really have my IC under control but was helped a bit by medication (endep to sleep, endone for pain relief, betmiga to relax the bladder). I've cut out all medications for the pregnancy and am finding that the symptoms are quite bad already - whether that's because I'm no longer on any medication or whether that's due to the pregnancy I'm not sure. The frequency is pretty bad (every half hour) and the pain is worse than I've ever experienced.

Anyway, just hoping there's someone else out there. I'm feeling pretty anxious about what to expect over the next few months.

Flexeril is category B and once you are in the second trimester many docs will let yiu take some Norco. I am not pregnant but my youngest is 4 months. I found unisom helped with sleep.

I suggest you talk with your OB doctor about medications that are safe during pregnancy. Some ICers find that as pregnancy progresses they feel better --- I hope you'll be in that group.

My children were born before my IC, but we do have members who have gone through pregnancy with IC. The commonality is that when they are able to hold their little ones in their arms, they feel it was worth it.

Sending welcoming hugs. I'm glad you found us.

Hello Trish86! I am currently 11 weeks with my third and the pain is horrible. I had my IC under control with meds and unexpectedly got pregnant. My ob made me go off all my meds, and I have been roughing it out. I told him today it was horrible. He suggested I talk with my urogynocologist and see what I can do. I had no issues with my second, but wasn't officially diagnosed with IC until after her birth.

    How are you holding up?

I have to agree with the suggestion that you see your urogynocologist about some help. I hope you are able to come up with some options to help you through this pregnancy --- that's a long time to tough it out.
