Increase in symptoms after getting flu shot?

    Advertisement :
Not sure where to post this, but since it is causing my symptoms to flare maybe this is a good place. Has anyone else had their IC flare after getting the flu shot? I got a flu shot for the first time ever and I've noticed my IC symptoms increased quite a bit.

HI, Melissa~ I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I had a flue shot about 3 weeks ago and haven't had any problems. I do feel that I'm in a period of remission though so don't know if that makes a difference.

Hope you start feeling better soon.
    Blessings,
    Ginger

Sorry to hear that you feel bad after the flu shot.

I don't know if it is true but I have heard that people often feel worst after the 1st flu shot and not after any future ones.

Hopefully this will be short lived for you, it could be a preservative in the shot, that it is bothering you.

Hi all, I have been in a terrible flare for the last 8 weeks, during which I got a flu shot. I never factored that in but plan on going through my old journals to see if I've ever had a reaction before. Maybe one more thing I add to my "caution" list!

Flu Shot and Increase in Symptoms

YES! I got the flu shot on Thursday and today, Sunday, I have an IC flare. I haven't had a flare in quite some time and I just don't feel like it's a mere coincidence.

I get a flu shot every year and it's never been a problem for me other than a sore arm for a few days.

I just remembered that the same day I got the flu shot, my doctor doubled the dose of my Lexapro (anti-depressant). I am on Tamoxifen and it's supposed to help reduce hot flashes and anxiety.

My goodness, I Google'd Lexapro and Bladder and there were pages and pages of bladders becoming irritated by Lexapro! Back to the drawing board.

I got a flu shot 2 weeks ago and I didn't flare right away but over the last 4 days I've been in a major flare with outrageous burning and frequency. My guess is that my flare was not caused by the shot unless it is a delayed reaction.
