Professional Listings - USA, Canada
Since our founding, the ICN has always believed that our job was to bring the patient and the professional together. Our professional listing accomplishes this goal by directing patients to professionals in their area who have a strong interest in treating interstitial cystitis.

Research & Survey Services
Are you conducting research??
Looking for the opportunity to gather data from a large population of IC patients??
The ICN has a long history of collaborating with researchers to develop data for various IC research studies, such as the rate of miscarriage in IC, female sexual dysfunction, male sexual dysfunction, risk factors and others. We're proud that data generated from our site has been presented at major medical conferences including the NIDDK Basic Bladder Science Symposium, ACOG, ISSWSH, AUA and others.
We offer a variety of research services, including:
Patient Recruitment: To assist with patient recruitment, we can publicize your research studies and/or clinical trials on our website or in blast e-mails. We have done this for several research centers, including the University of Maryland.
Web Based Surveys: Since our founding in 1995, we have hosted, conducted & managed a wide variety of web based surveys. Our on-line survey system provides real-time data analysis available for you and your staff 24/7 or your raw data can be sent directly to you for analysis. Downloadable and exportable in multiple formats.

What do you, the medical professional, need to help you better serve your diverse and demanding population of IC/PBS/prostatitis patients?
You need solid educational resources that can help you explain the basics about IC. We offer that and more.
We understand, implicitly, that you or your staff don't have the time to hold that patients hand while you explain IC in-depth. We do.
We understand that you don't have the resources that explain those simple, basic self-help strategies that can help that patient gain some control over their symptoms. We do.
We're here and we care. For 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the ICN provides a source where patients can gather vital information and receive support when they need it, such as during an IC flare.
We believe that the best patients that you can work with are those who are educated, informed and can talk rationally and calmly about their medical care. They use a voiding diary to track their symptoms. They maintain good medical records. They know what medicines they've taken, why they've taken and why they may have stopped. They know what tests they've had and why. In otherwords, they are active participants in their medical care. Best of all, with anxiety comes consistency and calmness. Anxiety levels drop, confidence and self esteem builds and quality of life improves.
With an ICN Professional Subscription, we'll send you the IC Optimist, our quarterly magazine for patients and providers, ICN Medical Records files, our ICN Special Report for that year and provide a special highlighted listing in our clinic database. We hope that you'll join us in our mission of providing free, completely affordable support to patients in need! Click here for more information.
Patient Education Materials
Don't you wish that every patient would walk into the office having read atleast one booklet on IC? Well, many do, but many others are in denial. They figure that if they don't read about it, it just can't be real. Denial can be a long and painful road, especially for those patients who continue to drink coffee every day with devastatingly painful consequences. There are SO MANY self-help strategies that can ease suffering. There are SO MANY books that can reduce their anxiety and help restore their confidence levels and self esteem. Many patients just don't know that there are great resources available.
We carry the best newsletters, magazines and books on IC, as well as a wide variety of other items that can help. Patients who have trouble sitting comfortably, for example, often find great relief with our bladder friendly chair cushion that was created specifically for people who have sensitivity in the crotch. Here are a few suggestions for you, for your office lending library and/or just to suggest to patients seeking more information.

A note from ICN Founder Jill Osborne - When I started my first support group in 1993, I always believed that I should do more than just provide support. I felt that we needed to look at our community and physician needs. As I spent more time with medical professionals, their needs became clear. We needed good, quality, events and CME's that would raise the knowledge of medical professionals, particularly at the community level. Local physicians simply don't have the time or budgets to travel to multiple national conferences each year. We also needed solid patient education materials that would empower patients to take charge of their care. They needed to build their confidence and move the patient from passiveness to active and healthy behaviors. The ICN embodies my belief!
