"There is nothing so moving, not even acts of love or hate, as the discovery that one is not alone." - R. Ardrey

A note from Jill

Yes, yes, yes! After many phone calls and emails, I have finally scheduled our next ICRE support group meeting. But, I'm changing it up this year abit. Why? Because I do IC six days a week already, it's really hard for me to give up a Sunday to run a large meeting. I found myself getting very burned out last year. And, honestly, I need more laughter in my life. So, we're going to try something new!

Our regular support meeting for Fall 2007 will be held closer to my office at the Rincon Valley Library on a Tuesday evening (see below). They have a large, comfortable room... and lots of restrooms. I also think it will be safer for a night time meeting then down at Kaiser.

I think we need more social opportunities. and playing games is a great way to get to know each other and to LAUGH. I propose having a monthly or quarterly IC GAMES meeting which I'll try holding at my house. We can have a few different games going... from the Mexican Train Dominoes game to card or other group games and IC friendly potluck. If you've got a great game, I'm open for suggestions. Of course, I'll also pass along any new IC news AND take any IC questions you have too! Fair warning... I do have an "inside" cat in the house. If you're a gamer and would like to play, please email me at jill[at]ic-network.com.

NEW NIGHT LOCATION - Sonoma County Library, Rincon Valley Branch

If you are travelling from a long distance, please call and confirm that there have been no last minute changes. (707)538-9446

Driving Directions for Rincon Valley Library:
The Rincon Valley Branch of the Sonoma County Library is located at 6959 Montecito Blvd, Santa Rosa 95409. It is a ten minute drive from Kaiser Permanente. So, if you've followed the directions to Kaiser, just turn north of Mendocino Ave, then turn right (east) on Fountain Grove Parkway. Take the road up the hill, down the hill and across the valley floor. You'll find the Library on the North side of the road... next to the park and Maria Carillo high school! Click here for a map and driving directions.

Driving Directions for Kaiser:
Kaiser is located at 401 Bicentennial Blvd, right next to Highway 101. If you're coming from the south, take the Bicentennial exit, bear right and then take the first left into the hospital. If you're coming from the North, take the Hopper Ave. exit (the first SR exit from the North just past River Road), turn left, then turn left again and go over the overpass. Hang a right at Mendocino. 1/2 block down you'll see a sign for the emergency room. Follow the road into the hospital and drive around to the front. Can't miss it! Yahoo offers great travelling directions and maps if needed!!

There is plenty of parking in front of the hospital. Our room is located in the main hospital on the lower level, right across the hall from the cafeteria. Just walk through the main entrance, down the hallway to the elevators and go to the lower level. We usually do not arrive until shortly before the meeting so please don't arrive too early!

About The Group:
Founded in 1993 by Jill Osborne, Evelyn White and Jennifer Yarbro, IC-Redwood Empire was originally affiliated with the ICA. Our group become independent in 1995, meeting regularly at Petaluma Valley Hospital and, later, at Kaiser Permanente-Santa Rosa. Our group now meets just twice a year "in-person" because we also facilitate the weekly live support chats on the IC Network website.

Jill Osborne, founder of the IC Network, is again leading the group after taking a two year break. An IC patient since the age of 32, Jill has run IC support groups, lectures and conferences for the past 13 years. Jill works full time managing the ICN and supervising a staff and volunteer team of 20. Read Jill's IC story.

IC-Redwood Empire currently serves patients throughout Northern California. We welcome all family members, friends, community members to our meetings at any time.
