Anyone here do his broth culture and get a DX of bacteria?

Did you go on antibiotics and did it help?

I am sending in a urin sample soon to him, just curious, my urogyno said go for it!

Some people have reported excellent results with antibiotic therapy; others have reported developing antibiotic resistant infections, which have been disastrous. Hopefully some who have actually tried this will respond.

Success with antibiotic therapy and Dr. F.

Yes, I am one who has had success with the broth culture diagnosis (Enterococcus) and then appropriate antibiotic therapy. I know many others who have had success. Am currently sponsoring research into the broth culture and findings using it and the PCR (molecular) machine that uses DNA. Email me if you have any questions. mfmidlo@aol.com

Donna, what's an antibiotic resistant infection and what constitutes disastrous results?? Did the persons develop an infection as a result of taking the antibiotics or did they develop some kind of infection later on that was resistant to the antibiotic they needed? Would you please clarify?

I've been helped by it, although not through Dr. F. Both my husband and I sent in samples, although my husband was very doubtful, and they came back negative. However, my current urogynecologist has had me on a 4-month course of low dosage Macrodantin and it really helped me. Now I'm just taking one after sex instead of every day.

Yes, antibiotics are worth a try - just be sure to take some sort of probiotic during and even a diflucan or two every week.

An antibiotic resistant infection is one that current antibiotics will not eliminate. Many doctors are hesitant to order long term antibiotics for this reason.

When antibiotics were first available in the 40's, people with things like strep throats could start on antibiotics and the sore throat would be gone almost overnight. Now it can take many days to beat a strep, even with antibiotics. Unfortunately, bacteria can mutate and become resistant to antibiotics.

Yes I was on the treatment for around 6-8 months. But it sure was worth every penny I spend on it. It cost me around$ 4,000.00 and going back and forth to MEXICO cuz I had it done in 1996-1997 and dr here in the USA were not willing to do it?

$4,000!!!! What were you taking???

My monthly bottle of Macrodantin costs $10 with insurance and not much more without. So the four months cost me only $40.

the 4,000.00 was for the 6-8 month treatment, that included all the meds and dr visits. The Insurance co that I had was Kaiser and they did not belive in this kind of therapy, they said it was old fashion but hey it worked for 5yrs so old fashion or not I would spend that amount and more any day If I could be symptom free for even 1yr. I spend 100.00 on meds right now every month.

Hi, Ruth, 5 years is a pretty good remission! I hope you have remissions like that too in your future.

I dont think I will ever be so lucky. My mom says " if you pray and keep your faith in the right places it can happen again" I think I was just lucky or desperate?
