Lamictal???
I had to go off my Neurontin because of a side effect and have been put on Lamictal instead. It's scary because not only did the Neurontin help my pain, it also kept my depression in check. The new medication is suppose to do the same but since I've started it, I'm having horrific headaches.
Has anyone else been on this medication

I don't know anything of Lamictal but have you tried any other anti convulsant than Neurontin? Just letting you know if Lamictal doesn't work out Gabitril is like Neurontin (but may be taken more times per day if doc chooses) and works a lot like it. So does some of the other meds I take for epilepsy....oddly they don't seem to help my pain much ...possibly because of the huge length of time I am on them.

If you are having headaches on your new med, please call your doc. Usually there are many other drugs that can be tried, that will help without giving you a headache. When I first started on antidepressants, I was prescribed prozac, which I had to come off of due to severe headaches.I hope you are feeling better real soon!

Hi Teri,
So happy to see you are posting again! Whoosh! I'm glad to hear you are doing better, at least about your headaches. Interestingly, that drug is sometimes given for migraines. (I'm having wicked headaches, too. I've heard they get worse in menopause.)
Isn't it nice when you come here & see old friends come back, too? Reading your posts used to get me through the blackest days. I hope you are getting to the lake again. I missed you. Love, Sue
