Anyone use Nerontin????
I have gone to the doc and he has me on Elmiron, Atarax and Nerontin as well as home instills if needed. Whew!!!that is a mouth full. Anyway I am only on 200mg of Nerontin and am tired all the time and was wondering if anyone else has this problem. OR does anyone take this medication at all? I have seem the name of all others but have never seen anyone talk of this one. It is used to help control nerve pain.

Hiya,
I've tried Neurontin twice. It can make you very very sleepy. It should go away over time though. It didn't work for me, but it has for some people I think. Good luck!
Oh, when I was taking it before bed it made me too groggy to get up in the morning so I started taking it just after dinner, and that worked better.

I saw a disturbing infomercial on TV about neurontin. I am not sure that I can post the details here, but if you are taking it, or thinking of it, please read all the literature you can find about it, and talk to your doc! Love and hugs to you all!

I am on 600 mg of Neurontin a day,and am tired alot too, as another person I know that is on it.I was very very tired at 900 mg and had to cut back to 600 mg.I see no pain improvement from it, but I am also on it for mood instability and it does help that better than anything I have ever taken so far, so I am dealing with the sleepiness.

I take neurontin 300 mg. in the AM and again in the PM. The uro. wants me to start also taking it once in the middle of the day. At first it made me sleepy...now I just wish it did. Since I have depression and have been on another med for several years, I know that it can take a good 6 wks or so for these type meds to get into your system. Good luck!

neurontin
I started taking neurontin 4 years ago when I went to a pain clinic. I had to move my dose up slowly because of the side affects. Everyone is different, some of the side affects were more pain in my legs and I almost stopped using it. Then I went to a lower dose and worked up slowly from there. I know it does help with pain. In my pain group 2 guys that had chronic pain from auto accidents told me it really worked. I thought no way but I talked to my family doctor and now I take a dose of 2400mg a day. It may be alittle higher because I use it for a rear end car accident and I.C. pain.
I seem to be a person that has to take any medication slowly because I am more sensitive to the side effects. I'm glad I hung in there! If you can talk to your pharmacist they often can tell you alot about the medications and what to do for side effects. They can also let you know what to watch out for. Good Luck :butterfly

I was on Neurontin for years and just recently had to off because of a digestive problem it was causing and I'm sooooooooo angry that I can't take it any more. It was a drug that I had to go on VERY slowly. I did 1/2 the doseage the dr wanted me to. I did it at my own pace because the side effect were pretty rotten. Once the side effect would leave, I'd increase the doseage and everything went fine. The tired feeling did go away and it helped with my pain so much, so, don't give up! Just do it slowly

I have been on Neurontin for about a year, and just last week my dosage was increased to 600 mg 3xday. It makes me very sleepy ALL DAY but the night dose doesn't seem to have the same effect. It's almost 2 a.m. here, and I'm still awake!I would not want to stop taking it.I do believe it helps, and definitely helps with vulvodynia.I just need to get my biological clock straightened out somehow.
