I'm not sure if the elavil is working.

Hi. I don't have IC ( no freq, urgency) but have lots of vulvadynia and burning when I pee. I have been on 25 mgs for a week and just uped it up to 50mg two days ago. The side effects aren't too bad. I just have to keep taking Pyridium cause I am still in a considerable amount of pain. Of course my MD would be away, and doesn't get back till monday.
I'm just of freaking out that this med won't work for me. Is there anyone else out there who got relief (not at first, perhaps)after a few weeks? Why isn't this working for me? Whah!
Thanks

Elavil

This is good timing! I've been taking Elavil for 3 months now. My frequency has lessened from 3-4x per night to 1-2x. I've noticed that even though I don't have to get up as much, in the night, it burns!!! I'm considering stopping. I take 25 mgs. per night.

I hope this helps.
