Ester C
So I have been sick and run down lately and constantly get sick. I was thinking about ordering some of the buffered Vitamin C for ICers off of the ICN but found the ESTER-C Low Acid verison at Walmart for under $8.00.
Does this help anyone or does it bother your bladders?

I am currently diagnosed with IC, PFD, endometriosis, asthma, and vulvodynia/contact dermititis, IBS, and fibromyalgia.
I am only taking medication for my fibromyalgia as my IC seems to be calmed down/in remission:
Neurontin (in place of lyrica because I can't afford it- lol) 300 mg x3 a day
Relafin (anti-inflammatory) 500 mg x2 a ay
Flexeril (muscle relaxer) 5-10 mg as needed
Seasonal (for endometriosis)
Endometriosis:
Continuous birth control (Seasonal)
First laparoscopy showed moderate to severe endo
Have been on with great success:
-Amitryptiline, Hydroxyzine, cocktail instillations, pelvic floor therapy... These things have led my IC to be under control.

I feel the same as you! That my body was lacking nutrients especially vitamin C and was looking for a boost. Ester-C was on sale at walgreens and I pretty much got two for one and decided to try it. I have to say I have had no problems with it and have been taking it every morning for about 3 weeks. I can't tell if it's really helping me but I do feel better knowing I'm getting some vitamin C. If it's not hurting me why not?
Good luck!

I am a generally happy 23 year old, newly diagnosed(Nov 2009), newly-wed living in Tampa.
I graduated from college in Boston in May. And since then have been trying to get my pain regime for this disease under control!
Medications currently taking:
Elmiron (2 in the morning 1 at night)
Benadryl (1 in the morning and 1 at night)
Vesicare (1 a day)
Prosed as needed
I am constantly looking for alternatives to these medications to heal my body! I am open to suggestions (thinking about aloe, cystoprotek, accupuncture, etc) until then I am keeping my fingers crossed that elmiron works for me!!!
I started PT last week....this consists of electro stimulation through my ankle of my prudential nerve.
oh yeah I also practice yoga every day I can and am wishing I could work out like I used to!
I am lucky to have an extremely supportive husband and family
Thank you all for your help and support! It means more than I could ever say in words

I would only try a SMALL amount of these. I tried every single buffered brand out there and ALWAYS had major pain.

Well, seeing as how I made my bladder made by eating French Onion chip dip... I'll wait until my flare passes BUT I took it last night and it seemed okay. I just want my immune system to be better so I don't catch every little thing. Thanks Teresa & ICTampa.

I believe when it come to supplements that you are wasting your money if you don't buy a good brand because the source(where they get it from) and the absorption in your body is poor. It's always better to buy a good brand and it is also less likely to have added ingredients as fillers.
*I know Oil of Oregano is a real good immune system booster but I don't know if we can take it with IC.*
*When I'm sick I drink Echinacea Plus tea by Traditional Medicinals. I swear by it and it has never given me a problem*

Even Ester C is an ouch for me. But not nearly as bad as regular C and so when I think its really necessary I tough it out a day or two.
