Unhappy problem, need help

i am on augmentin for an infected body piercing. while on the augmentin, i developed a yeast infection. was given an rx for gynezole to treat the yeast infection. did the gynezole friday night. have been having a bladder flare since sunday evening.

any relation between the flare and the meds?

i'm just hoping to get some encouragement that it will go away as the gynezole leaves my system. but i don't know.

I am very sorry about your flare.

Many times I have had a flare because of a yeast infection.

The flare could be from the meds too....we all react to things differently....maybe someone else has had some experience with those meds and can answer.... I haven't.

I hope you are better soon...if it is because of the yeast infection or the med you should be better soon.

Best Wishes...I will pray for you,

Sorry you are feeling bad. I had a time when I had yeast infection after yeast infection and my bladder was definitely worse when I had them. For me, I don't think it was related to the meds at all, it was the yeast infection. I was very sore and burning in my bladder and vagina. Bad combo!

i still have to take occasionaly antibiotics. I try to take acidophilus (sp?) ever day to keep my body in check and prevent yeast. Eating yogurt with active cultures is also a good idea. When I do have a yeast infection, I use diflucan (oral pill, stronger than over the counter creams) and it clears it up.

You might want to go to the gyno to make sure it isn't bacterial vaginosis (BV), which is another common infection women get. For that, you use a different medicine. Yeast infection meds wouldn't help.

Hope you start feeling better soon!

Holly, My first "bladder burn" happened while on an otc cream for yeast. I always use diflucan for yeast now. I don't want to chance a flare. I also flare with estrogen creams done vaginaly. This varries from person to person. I've heard others say these things don't bother them. Hope you feel better! Grace

thanks for the help, girls. i'm feeling a lot better now. but still having a few minor problems. doc gave me one refill on this gynezole stuff. don't think i'll need to get it filled though. he had mentioned the diflucan, but said it only works in about 80% of the people who take it. and with my track record (i'm always the small minority nowadays ), he wanted me on something that he was positive would work.
