My baby girl is 6!
My daughter is turning 6 on the 11th. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! That's 1/3 of the way to 18. Her father and I divorced when she was 2 1/2. He's emotionally abusive. When I think of what her life would be if we were still together I shudder. She and I have our nice little happy, calm, apartment. She is soooo sweet and she takes nothing for granted. I think her daddy barks at her when she's with him because when she comes back she says "I love you" over and over. And "you're the best." And "you're a really good Mommy because you're kind and help me and don't get mad at me all the time." The other day she said "it's fun to be a kid, when you have a good Mommy." She is one big ego trip for me. I think about the short time we were a "family" and all the yelling and abuse and me storming out and her crying for me and I thank God I gave her and I a chance to have what we have now.

Well a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your little one. My baby just turned 7 on October 21 They grow up so fast, almost like one day they are babies and the next they are going to school and making their own peanut butter sandwiches. I'm sorry that you went through such an abusive relationship, but I am glad you had the strength to walk away from it. So many women stay and the ones that are hurt the most are the children. You are a very brave woman. You are in my thoughts.

WHAT A WEEKEND! Cousins over Fri, Chuck E Cheese Saturday, church and making cupcakes Sunday! My daughter walked into my room at 11:30 Sun while I was foling clothes, looked at me, crawled onto my bed, put her head down and was OUT! I soooo wanted to join her. Then the dryer went off, then the oven timer...I got to spend the morning with her Monday because I had off and when I took her to school she goes "I'm going to miss you." She was at her dad's for dinner. Thank you so much you two! I really am blessed by a sweet, sensitive, funny loving little girl. I still can't believe she's six though! It goes so fast!

It is amazing, isn't it? My oldest turns 5 in about a week and my husband and I were just laying in bed last night and I was saying, "Next year he'll be off to school and I won't have him with me all the time......." I am glad you had such a good birthday with your little girl!

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Lexapro (since 2003 for depression & anxiety, but also helps my IC)
Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)
My IC story: http://www.ic-network.com/patientstories/kim.html It's very outdated now. I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for several years now.

They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” ~ Viktor Frankl
