Yeast Input & Question

Last Wednesday I felt like I was peeing razor blades, it's the first time I've ever had this "IC" symptom. I went to a gyno Friday and he took one look and said...yeast. He prescribed 4 Diflucan, one every four days. I'm not surprised I have an infection - however I didn't have ANY symptoms - because I was on a protracted course of antibiotics for a sinus infection three months ago. Anyway, things are a little better. I'm not peeing razor blades, just cutlery...
My question is: Would it be ok to take acidophalis too? Would it assist getting rid of the yeast infection? Should I keep taking it once the yeast infection is abated? I guess that's more than one question...
Thanks a bunch!

My thoughts are that yeast is an aspect of IC symptoms for many....I have taken acidophilus at the same time as Diflucan and take it after the infection is gone. Do I think the acidophilus would assist in getting rid of the yeast...yes especially if you have been on an antibiotic recently.

Most of my yeast infections are IC flares....normal "vaginal yeast infection symptom" don't get much of a chance to bother me since the IC symptoms do so much earlier...unless I think the flare is from something else...which happens.

Every single time I have thought I was in a terrible IC flare it has turned out to be a bad yeast infection. I had no symtoms of yeast, no itching, no cottage cheese discharge. Red sore vulva, terrible urethral stinging, burning, bladder pressure, constant peeing. It also does not always stop with Diflucan which makes me think it isnt just Candida.
