Boric Acid causing pain?
I have had almost constant yeast infections for the past year and recentaly, my gyn gave me Boric Acid supp. Well, after two days of using them, I wound up in the ER with the most horrible shooting pain up my vaginia. Has anyone ever had a bad experience like this?
Also, some of the time the Dr doesn't even see yeast when he examines me and Diflucan doesn't help. Are there any other infections that might be causing yeast-like symptoms? I know most of the time the culture shows yeast, but nothing seems to help. I take all the over-the-counter things I can find. Just not sure what to do.

Vulvar Vestibulitis can cause yeast infection-like symptoms. I would ask your Gyn to test you for it. It's a very simple test, the doctor takes a q-tip and swabs your vaginal area where there are glands. Pain and inflammation is a sure sign of Vulvodynia.
I would say that if you are having such a horrible reaction to the boric acid, to quit taking them and call your gyn and let him know about what happened. I actually have had good results with boric acid and my yeast infections, but it is not for everyone.

I would say we can react to anything and if you suspect the boric acid than that may be it. I have heard IC patients recommend it.
There are quite a few things that cause yeast like symptoms. Bacterial Vaginosis, Vulvodynia,
I hope you get things figured out and feel better soon.

Thanks!
Thanks for your information. I went to my gyn this week and he diagnosed me with vulvodynia. He put me on calcium citrate and a low oxalate diet. This was Monday and I am already feeling better!! Thank you so much for your suggestions!

You may have non-Candida yeast in which case Diflucan won't help. I've never cultured it and didn't have the itchy like symptoms, just fiery red burning. I was put on Sporanox (treats non-Candida yeast) which cured it. Also cured my vulvodynia but have to stay on N-acetyl glucosamine to maintain it. Over time I developed an intolerance to Sporanox so switched to Ketoconazole (pill) and that works fine if I start to burn after antibiotics.

Hello Katrina
I am sorry for your illnesses. I was informed from another friend a website you may want to check out to maybe help your situations. for Dr. Schultz. I heard that this may have helped many people cleanse thier bodies from sicknesses in such. Maybe this could help.
