Be cautious with it as I and others have had contact irritation following those kinds of creams. Give it a try and if it bothers you stop puting it on. Unfortunatley I got into a terrible cycle and couldn't tell if it was the yeast or the cream. It was the cream!! The ingredient propolyn glycol is usually the culptrit. I really think someone could make a lot of money if they could market something for yeast without all the chemicals in it.

Hopeful IC....Jolene is most likely the exception to the norm. Most IC patients cannot tollerate over the counter Yeast creams. Don't risk it. Most cannot tollerate Monistat!!!

Although I've only been dealing with IC and vulvdoynia for about 2 years, I have had chronic/recurring yeast infections for the past 17 years. Monistat has never worked for me, and even before IC and VV, it was either extremely irritating or did not cure the infection. Haven't had any luck with Diflucan either.

I know that most of us cannot tolerate any of the OTC yeast creams, but I can tolerate gynelotrimin (clotrimazole). I can only find it at Walgreens, buy every box they have, and keep it in my purse at all times.

With any of the OTC treatments, or even any prescribed cream, I would suggest trying just a small amount externally to see if you can tolerate it.

That is true for everything. Any time you try anything new...treatment, food, whatever...start with a small amount so that if it does cause a flare it is a small one (hopefully). Thanks wcq!

I have learned from experience..too many prescription creams and ointments that I thought would be the miracle cure! And boy have I paid for getting my hopes up! I've posted before about gynelotrimin, and I know that you asked if anyone else could tolerate it or has used it, but no one ever has responded that they have. It seems that Monistat has the monopoly in most of the stores, at least where I live. Maybe that's why???

It is possible that not many people have been able to try gynelotrimin....high doses or probotics are working for me right now. Anything is possible.
