Here is my complete list yeast help ideas. Ofcourse there is always the giving up all forms of sugar but let us know if after trying these she still has problems. It is always possible that it isn't yeast at all....many things mimic yeast infections. Glad you are helping your fiancee
YEAST LIST: Boric Acid, Aci-gel (insert it at night, it maintains the ph of the vagina & yeast can't live when there's an acidic environment - or can use apple cider vinegar in water TAKE CAUSION IF YOUR URETHRA IS SENSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!) and also washing externally with tea-tree oil diluted in water. \acidopholous tablets, a wet towel with s AZO yeast, http://www.ghtbiz.net/rescue/nocandida/lead.html, Any probotics, Flora-Q The Flora-Q is made by Kenwood Therapeutics. It contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus paracasel, and Streptococcus thermophilus -- these are all bacteria that normally live inside your digestive tract. What you do is take a capsule a day for a few days during antibiotic treatment and then a couple afterwards, and this replaces your normal flora, making it much less likely to to get yeast infections. http://www.ic-network.com/iclifestyles/july01.html list of ideas (Nystatin, Diflucan by prescription.) For oral thrush that keeps coming back: change your tooth brush

Has she been checked to make sure it's not bacterial in nature, rather than yeast?

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Lexapro (since 2003 for depression & anxiety, but also helps my IC)
Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)
My IC story: http://www.ic-network.com/patientstories/kim.html It's very outdated now. I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for several years now.

Sometimes both have to be treated *sigh* Talk to the doc. The only other idea I have is acidophlis pills, found in the health food store or any place that sells vitamins. Kathi

Sometimes when one infection is treated, the treatment also kills off the "good" bacteria --- it's very possible she has a different infection. She really should be checked again.

I agree with Donna. Do you know what the pill was and what the dose was. Monistat is not well tollerated by ICers. Your first post said she was on Diflucan....do you know the dose?
Wishing you both well!
