Trouble Holding a Job! - Interstitial Cystitis Network Support Forum

I have struggled with IC for 4 years now. I can't seem to get and hold a job. I end up calling in so much, I end up quitting b/c I feel bad for calling in so much. Any ideas/suggestions?!

When you interview or during orientation, tell your supervisor about IC - maybe even provide them with info. Tell them you are a person who is great candidate for the position ... but some days you will need to take your work into the restroom with you to be able to get any work done.

and some days you may need to call in. It's a disability they may be able to accomodate - like someone who used a wheel chair or leg braces or whatever else.

Depending on what you do, you might look into working for a temp agency. That way you can say no if you don't feel up to working.

I am not sure if these were full or part time jobs but for me cutting down to part time help hurts the wallet alittle but I save much on all the medical costs I was paying for all the appointments
