http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/oral.html#spasm
Antispasmodics are often used to help in the treatment of IC because many times inflammation causes bladder spasms.
Although I don't know anthing about diicyclomine I believe you should ask your doctor to be sure but I suspect that most likely it will be ok unless it interacts with something else you take or you react to something in it badly. Many times the only way to be sure it is ok for you it to try it. Do so only while keeping your doctor informed though.

I suggest you ask your doctor about trying antispasmodics. Sometimes they do help with symptoms, but your doctor needs to be aware of what you are taking if he/she is to be able to treat you.
Sending gentle hugs,
Donna

It's common to be prescribed these meds (they include meds like Detrol, Ditropan, the Oxytrol patch, Urispas, and others) for IC and overactive bladder. They help some people with bladder spasms and frequency/urgency, but for others they seem to do nothing. I agree to make sure your doctor knows you are taking this-- he needs to know in case you have side effects (like urinary retention) so he can treat them properly.

The medication you mentioned is also called Bentyl and is used for intestinal spasms.
