Do you get discomfort?

I have been experiencing yeast-like symptoms for awhile now. About a week before my period I get itching, burning, and discomfort, and only a little bit of yeast growth. It seems to be worse when my IC is worse. It usually goes away during my period (I can't wear tampons because of it). But it doesn't happen every month, just sometimes. I have talked to several doctors and nobody can give me any answers!! Does this happen to anybody else? Have you found ways to soothe it?

http://www.ic-network.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9312 well maybe they are not yeast infections.

Have you tried using acidophilus? If normal yeast medications don't seem to help maybe you have something else. Burning and discomfort are not unusual for IC but itching not too much. I found I could not use a tampon because of my IC and one time...but that was because of pressure. Please let me know how you are doing.

I did try acidophilus and it actually made it worse! I also tried sitz bath and that didn't seem too compatible either. I saw a uro-gyn and she then put me on a birth control called Yasmin 28 which for some reason she said it seemed to help out with this problem. This helped calm things down enough to deal, but it still happens. It's not as bad or as frequent as it used to be but I never got any answers. Should I stop trying?
