Diflucan & nausea??
Wound up with a yeast infection while taking Macrobid for a UTI...,
I had a Diflucan so took and and it made me soo sick. I have taken it before and only got dizzy but this time I lost everything .., so doubt it will help! Has anyone ever had this reaction??
Though I'm currently out and will not see my dr till Wed.,, should I try it again?Just wondering if was a one time thing or I should be concerned about taking it? I am taking Contact for a cold wonder if they don't go well together!
Any imput?
Thanks!

My suggestion is to talk to your doctor before you take it again. It could have been the combination of drugs that caused the reaction.

Diflucan is pretty well known for causing nausea and vomiting -- it's a powerful drug and many find this to occur. I imagine if you're taking other meds too the risk of interaction goes up. Mention this happened to your doctor -- you could try it again and if you become ill again, you may need to go either to vaginal creams/suppositories or Nystatin tablets -- these take longer to work, but will do it.

I was recently queasy on Diflucan for the first time (I've taken it many times); but it was also a night that I went to bed with nothing but cookies for dinner! So I don't know, maybe the combo wasn't the best.
Can you take cold medications? I thought they were no-no's for ICers.

I can take cold medicine without a problem, though am bother by almost everything else! Actually I've noticed that some cold medicine helps my IC. I am on hydroxizine which is an antihistimine for IC but was afraid to take it with Contac till I called the pharmasist. They said I could take it together. (They always snicker when I say I'm on hydorxizine though and I just don't get it!)
Anyway colds gone and so is the yeast thanks to my Silverbiotics. Didn't have any more Duflucan and have a DR appointment tomorrow and most likely a treatment so was desperate to get rid of the yeast Used it internally and my yeast was gone quickly! I will ask my DR about the Diflucan and for another script but hopefully I won't need it!!

It is a powerful drug!! I agree with Dona...it may be a combination of meds...often is the case for me. I know Diflucan is one my general doc watches its effect on me closely.
