Acidophilus - It's a life saver for yeast!
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but if you have recurring yeast infections I highly recomment Acidophilus. It's an over the counter medicine and it's the culture that comes in things like yogurt. Sometimes you have to ask for it at the pharmacy and sometimes it's with the other vitamins. Sometimes it has to be refrigerated, but not always. I have reoccuring yeast infections and they pretty much never go away. I take two Acidophilus pills every night and I don't get them anymore!

It has been mentioned before. I have some too and I do recommend for yeast infection prevention. Thanks for sharing...I can't eat yogurt normally so I am always needing something else.

acidopholus
Hi
I too ,just bought some of the acidopholus. I was wondering how long before it works? I seem to go only a few days without some type of irritation down there. I use over the counter meds for it and then it goes away for a few days but then returns. My gyno says it is yeast but it is just a little bit so it should not cause me the irritation I describe. Well, I bet if she had the itching like I do, she would think otherwise. I have been taking it on and off for only 2 weeks and like I said, on and off. I admit, I have not been consistent? How long before any relief was noticed? Thank you again for the info..

It typically takes me about a week and a half to two weeks to get rid of it. I also have problems with bacterial vaginosis, especially after a course of antibiotics to treat yeast. I've read that it's recommended to go off of the acidophilus from time to time to make sure you still need it, but I just take it with my mass quantities of other medications. Every time I go off of it to check if I need it, I get a yeast infection...

Acidophilus
It can also be helpful if you have intestinal or bowel issues. It can be bought in tablets that don't need refrigeration at Savon/Osco and many other vitamin stores.
