Hydroxyzine
Hi All,
Have anyone found Hydroxyzine to be helpful with urg/freq/pressure? Is so, what dosage and how long did you take it before noticing any symptoms relieve? My IC doctor just prescribed Hydroxyzine for me, but have me start at 1, 10mg per night for 7 days. Then 2, 10mg per night for 7 days. Then 3, 10mg per night for 7 days. And finally max. out at 4, 10 mg per night. Isn't 40 mg per night little too much for my 95lbs body?
Thank you!

I would say your doc knows you best and that is why he is tapering up to the final doseage level. Not only does weight play into your ablility to take a med--the insides tell the real story. The tango between your blood levels of the med, with filtering through the liver and finally through your kidneys and are excreted. Like I said, your doc knows best, and 40 mg is not a massive dose.
Hugs,
Barb

I started out on 10 milligrams at night in the beginning. For the last 4 years (I think could be longer) I have been taking 100 milligrams at night. Had wanted a bigger dose but doc said that's as high as it can go. Only get up 1-2 times instead of every 20 minutes. Can't take it during the day tho. Even just 10 milligrams. I end up falling asleep. Without it I know I would not sleep at all during the night.

I started on 40mg a day and I am very light weight too. Fortunatly for me, it has the opposite effect....I have to take it in the morning...I would be WIRED and wouldn't be able to sleep if I took it at night. Like the others said, your doctor knows best, BUT if you have concerns, don't hesitate to ask him/her!
