What?????????????
I recently received a urine analysis report back and the doctor said there was a "low count bacteria." I have had this before and the doctors will not treat it with antibiotics. Does anyone else with IC get a low count bacteria frequently? The doctor said if it was really bothering me he would give me an antibiotic but to otherwise wait it out.

I have gotten low count bacteria counts before. When I did the most I hadn't gotten diagnosed yet and would go to the doctor thinking I had an infection but only low count bacteria was found....they would treat me but say that it shouldn't be enough bacteria to bother me because just some is normal for a lot of people. I don't know if it is common with people with IC but I have heard others say similar things. I hope if it is bothering you that you feel better soon.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but before my lap for endo my doc made me use suppositories for some kind of bacteria. I had no idea, no symptoms. He said it was common and that I didn't have an "infection", nor were the bacteria harmful, but that it needed to be addressed before my surgery. It was during this surgery that he conclusively diagnosed my IC (cystoscopy and distention). Anyway...that's all I can offer; and I'm betting I'm off on this (my bacteria was in my vagina, not my urine).
