Allegra To Help Flare?

I think I may be having a reaction to paint. We are doing some painting in the house and last night my IC was terrible. I have read that people are getting releive from antihistamines. Does anyone find Allegra to be as helpful as getting a prescription. Is Allegra as sedating? Has anyone found it helpful to a allergic IC reaction?

I drink allegra (instead of atarax) in the morning because it doesn't make me tired, and atarax at night. Antihistamines only help people with IC if they have mast cells that were discovered in the tissue from the biopsy perfomed with the cystoscopy and hydrodistention.
