amitriptyline
Just wondering how long it takes for Amitriptyline to kick in. Did it help you?

I have been taking Amitriptyline for almost a year now. It definitely helps me to sleep better at night. I take it about an hour before going to bed. I used to get up 5 or 6 times a night to pee and now 2-3 times unless I am having a flare and then nothing helps.

I have been taking elavil for quite some time, well I stopped for awhile, but I remember the first time I took it, I slept through the night. It was a miracle to me. I was so happy I almost cried! I switched to Ambien then, but I had a bad reaction to it and went back to Ambien. Good luck!

Hi, I have been on Elavil about a year now and take it about an hour before going to bed, and it has helped me considerably. I only have to get up once now during the night, and the nights rest really has helped me deal with IC, take care hugs Iris hi grouphug

Elavil saved my life. I started out at 50 mg and after 3 months noticed relief from IC pain. The side effects at 50 were bad (I was dead tired all the time) but I am glad I stuck with it. I am now down to 10 mg. and it is still working

I have been on Elavil for over a year now, 10mg at night. If I am in a flare, I take 20mg. I have tried 5-6 other meds along with Elavil. None of them have helped. This is the one drug I could not sleep without.

I have been on Amitriptylin 25MG for 5 months now. I love it. I have a life and hardly any pain anymore. Walking is great and sleep is much better. I have gained 10 pounds and I do have a craving for sweet things. I seem to hold more and my bladder is so happy now. I hope it keeps working. I also cut out Ibuprofen for cramps because it seem to give me flares. hi
