Post Question about Lexapro,
Does Lexpro have side effects?
like gain weight.

My doctor give me today to try this new medician. i was wondring. any input are welcome!!!!!!!

Some people gain weight on it and I think some people lose on it. My psychiatrist told me that it does NOT affect your metabolism - just your appetite. So, if you watch what you eat you could be fine.

I have had a bit of weight gain, BUT I was also eating like crap and not exercising regularly. 2 weeks ago I decided to really eat well and get to the gym. So far so good.

Lexapro has helped me so much it would be worth a little weight gain. Honest.

Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Lexapro (since 2003 for depression & anxiety, but also helps my IC)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)
