Question Generic Atarax

I've been taking the generic version of Atarax at 25mg for about 5 months now. I just went to pick up my refill, and the pills look different. In the past, they were small white pills with black writing on them. My new refill has purple pills. I was just wondering if anyone else has taken the purple pills. I just wanted to make sure they also come in purple pills, or if there was a mistake when filling my order.

Please let me know if anyone else has gotten the purple pills or if I should go back to the pharmacist to verify.

Thanks,
Chrissy

My Vistaril pills (also hydroxyzine - can't remember the difference) have come in two different versions. One is pink and white and the other is green and a blue-ish green. I think I checked with the pharmacy the first time to make sure I got the right meds.

I always check with my pharmacy if pills look different --- they will be happy to check it out for you.

I take hydroxyzine and mine are red. Do check with the pharamacy. I had an instance where I got my pills and they where not the same, turned out had two prescriptions mixed up, mine and somebody elses.

Needless to say, I no longer use that pharmacy !

I talked to the pharmacist, and they apologized for not letting me know that it is the correct pill, it just looks different know. A different manufacturer I guess. I hope that the dye won't bother me.

My hydroxyzines are pink and white. Did anyone experience an increase in burning when taking these? Unless it's just ovulation again, something is causing me some grief in the burning department.

This happened to me also. The pharmisit said that the price is going up so they keep changing to stay competitive. I guess because it has now become popular to treat IC etc.!!! I ask them give me the white ones and let me know if there is a change. That way I can try only a few at first to see if I react. They printed it on my label!

Chrissy,
When I refilled mine this week I received two bottles. One had the usual white pills with black lettering and the other bottle had five purple pills. The pharmacist said they ran out of the white ones and finished the refill with the purple but put them in separate bottles. I'm taking the white ones first since that is what I'm used to.

Thanks for all the responses. I haven't started taking the purple pills yet, I still have some of the white ones. I'll start the purple ones when I'm out of the white ones in about a week. Hopefully I don't react to the purple ones, but we'll see.
