urinalysis problems
Has anyone ever had issues w/ urinalysis. I just started a new job and had a drug screen. They called me into HR and told me my urine was dilute. I thought that was good, it is not. They were looking at me like I was hiding something. I spoke to my doc. Mr doctor sent me a letter explaining the disease and why I drink so much H20 (really reduces my pain by reducing concentration of urine).
I reduced my h2o intake alot and went for another test. After I peed in the cup it still looked really lite in color. I bet it will be dilute again. I guess I'll have to wait. If it comes back diluted again I'll give them the letter. Oh yeah by reducing my water intake I felt terrible all day, had to take percocet following drug screen. So I wonder what these labs/employers problems are. Would they rather have a person drink alot of water, dilute urine or take narcotics regularly.

gees, they really are making things hard for you. Well, hopefully your letter from your doc should solve things.

Some people who do abuse drugs drink TONS of water right before peeing in the cup to try to dilute the amount of drugs in their urine. That's probably why the funny looks, but the note from the doctor should help them understand that yours is diluted for a non-criminal reason.

Thanks so much. I did realize the drug thing when I came home, went to ask.com and asked why urine would be diluted. Every hit was to pass a drug screen (all for drug abusers). That is one reason why I got the letter from my doc. I figure when I pass the screen, I still wanted HR to know I wasn't trying to "hide anything" or "buy myself some time". Well anyway I am feeling better today, I am going to try to shovel with my family (we got 10 inches yesterday) If pain starts I'll come in. You are all so great having this board makes me feel not so alone
Thanks for being here
Laura
