Angry why so much antibiotics??

went to the dr today. I had a small kidney stone in my left kidney yesterday. I hope it came out by now. I had lots of water. But I wanted to know why dr's put you on antibiotics when they can't find anything wrong? Soon i'm going ammuine to cipro since they put me on it soon much. Do they do this to you?

a good doctor wouldn't do that, as antibiotic resistance is a NOT a good thing. I think next time you should question him. Patients have a right to know why a doctor is doing something. If it's because he thinks you have recurrent UTI's or something stupid like that, get a second opinion. And if you need to, a third and a fourth.

Kiyoka, sorry you have a kidney stone. My guess is doctors do that sometimes just so that they look like they are doing something, and than at other times because the risk of infection is high. I have been on Cipro a long time and it still works for me so I bet you have somemore time before it doesn't. Don't worry to much. I hope you feel better soon. Remember to be agressive with your doctor and know it is your body! Wish I could be there to help.
