I, too, am so sorry you are going through this. Moby offered some good suggestions. I wish I had some great ideas for you but can only offer those that do come to mind. How about admin. assist. with a social service agency or local housing authority, admin for a community college or university near you or for museums that might be in your area? If anything else comes to mind I will certainly post it.
We all will keep you in our thoughts. Please keep posting as we all are concerned about you and will do what we can to give you support through this very trying time.

angela,
if you have worked in the past and paid into ss, you could be eligible. also, you might be able to get ssi, which is for people that make a lot of money or get enough from regular ss. if you have a doctor behind you case, you should look into getting all the papers from ssa. you can print them from the internet, too. you can call the ssa office and give them your ss number and they can tell you if you have paid in enough. if your ic is bad, you could qualify for medicare. you must talk to your doctor. it really helps if the uro is helpful.
good luck....

I am so sorry girl. I have been pain free for 4 years and went through the getting a job fiasco. I had 19 years experience as a paralegal but I am not a spring chicken anymore and, despite what anyone says, employers do not like long gaps in job history. Even if certain hiring practices are against the law they can find ways around it. I had to explain the job gap. you dont have to go in detail but you do have to explain it. i told them how anxious I was to get back to work and that I was 95% sure my condition is controlled with meds. do you still have painful times or is your IC under control? I know how hard it is to work when you have flares, etc. Anyway if you want to ask me anything you can e mail me at sunlover518@aol.com. I am sure you will find job success eventually.

hey everyone. I just finished nerve block 2 of 3 and I am feeling GREAT! The injection site is very sore and I am alternating heat and ice, they also gave me some stronger pain meds to use this week while I recover but get this, NO (yep I said NO) bladder, pelvic or vulvar pain even when the pain meds wear off. i hope and pray this is my way to a better life. My docs have been great- they are even being considerate about the divorce, helping me through some of the tricky issues of insurance and such. I have an interview on Nov. 1, this should give me plenty of time to be recovered from the block injections and off the major pain meds. they said I may not need any pain meds after it is finished or maybe just tylenol (the worst they expect is that I may need to take Ultram-that is just fine with me, anything is fine if we can control the pain and stay off narcotics, those are my big goals). I am just so happy and it has been awhile since I have been happy! Anyonw want to know more about the block Im me, I am so willing to talk about it! Thank you everyone for your support, understanding and encouragment. I hope you are all as pain free as can be today. May God bless and keep you.
