Elderberry

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has tried Elderberry with any success? I have a friend with IC and she started taking it and seems to have some relief. I bought some on Saturday and am going to start taking it to see if it helps. I am also currently taking the CystaQ twice daily and Elmiron three times a day. It's supposed to reduce inflammation in the bladder and urinary tract so that's what made me intrigued.
Thanks for any info you may have. I'm just looking for any kind of relief from this, as you all know too well.

I used to make jam from elderberries --- I've never heard of its being of any benefit for an IC bladder. What does your doctor say?

I haven't asked him about it yet. I go to see him on Wednesday. I didn't know if it would be beneficial or not. If it was, it would be worth it to me.

Note from ICNDonna: When reading reviews, please keep in mind that it is very simple to write a review. I did searches on both BING and GOOGLE for CDC on this substance and the only thing either found was a list of supplements that are widely available.

I was thinking of mentioning this a few weeks back and never got around to it. I love Sambucol!
Native Americans have been using this for years for bladder disorders and infection. That was the part that made me take the plunge and use it. It was developed by a virologist and its advertising says it is the first OTC product that works as an antiviral (a major coup when you think of it). Its the first of its kind that actually attacks viruses and boosts the immune system at the same time.

It has been used for many ailments, but it has been used for bladder problems for years by the holistic community, which is the part that sold me. I was scared because my immune system has been shot ever since I got breast cancer and if I get H1NI, I am in trouble (I swear someone can sneeze and I get whatever the heck they have a few days later and it gets aggravating after a while). The vaccine has caused a lot of serious and adverse reactions in some people (which is why I personally choose to stay away from vaccines period) and I was afraid to go into crowded areas with all this going on. I bought a bottle of Sambucol and not only has it helped my bladder (it actually helped when I thought it might make me flare), but it really does make you feel better when you feel run down or feel like you may be coming down with something.

I had never even heard of it before! I read the reviews from a lot of skeptical people who said it was nothing short of miraculous and had to have it. I have since bought 4 more bottles. This stuff is liquid gold and tastes delicious! Twice now I have had what I thought was the beginnings of the flu and I took this faithfully for two days and it was all gone! It stopped whatever it was in its tracks. Now I take a few teaspoonfull's a week just to keep my immune system steady and yes it really has seemed to help my bladder. Its a healer that's for sure (I get the regular syrup). Its absolutely delicious!

I was furious when Zicam was taken off the market because that zinc remedy was the only thing I had that worked for me to help keep my immune system in check when I got colds and flu's. Cold Eze is the next best thing I guess, but always upsets my stomach. Airborne gives me horrible attacks of IBS so I had nothing anymore and then comes Sambucol which blows them all away and more. My husband even takes a bottle with him to work now because so many people get sick there. Love love love!

Oh that sounds good. Does it help with frequency too?
