New Diet Guide?
On the new diet guide there are little crosses about certain foods in the bladder friendly column. What do these mean? I didn't see a legend for them. Thanks.

I had to look for it even though I knew it was there!
Right under the column headings, Bladder friendly, Try it, and Caution, it says, "Note: Foods labeled with a plus sign (+) can be especially soothing during an IC flare."

Ah yes!!! There it is!!! Thanks. I was looking all over for it!!! Is it abnormal that a few with the crosses actually give me flares? I know we are all so different. I have trouble with some of the bladder friendly foods. ie...oatmeal, brown rice, corn, honey. I try them every now and again to verify but it always seems to turn out the same...sigh...

The list is a good place to start, but from what I understand it is more of a guideline, sort of collective experience on how foods 'tend' to affect those with IC. There seems to be some variances by individual though. -I believe I've read of others who say milk(+), for instance, causes them to flare. There are items listed under bladder friendly which just make my bladder scream too, like peanuts! I wish they were friendly to my bladder because I used to love them!

Hi,
Vicki is right, sometimes people will react to foods on the Bladder Friendly List. It is just a guideline, but a good one for the most part! :-)
