Exclamation UGH! I have a kidney infection

On Tuesady the culture came back positive for a uti/kidney infection Sunday and Monday I began to get more and pain in sides and lower back along with some fever, chills and by Tuesday morning a small amount of blood in my urine They changed my antibiotic from Cipro to Macrobid but I have no significant relief. The fever and chills a have begun to diminish slowly. My MS and IBS symptoms are still with me as well. Being sick almost all the time is really wearing me down physically and mentally. I can't function like this. I am really depressed. I'm tired of feeling like an invalid. I could really use some prayers and support. I always find comfort and understanding on this message board. Thanks for listening.

Natalie, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I notice that you have a lot of health problems to deal with & I also know how stressful it is. On the plus side you do tolerate the antibiotics so hopefully the infection will be under control soon. I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers. good luck!

Did they do a culture and sensitivity test? If not, I suggest you ask for one to be sure you are on an antibiotic that's effective for the specific bacteria.

Yes, they did do the test and said Marobid was the right antibiotic for this infection. Over the last two days I am gradually impoving. Thanks to everyone who replied to my post. I really appreciate the kind words and support I get here.

Thanks, Natalie
