Imipramine - Good days/Bad days

During the first 2 weeks of imipramine....do you have good days and bad days. It seems like one day I'll feel fine. Then, the next day I'll feel terrible. Is it this way in the beginning? Someone please tell me! Yesterday was awesome. Today was very hard.

It takes a while for your body to adjust to the medicine. Usually there are side effects when starting a medicine, but those tend to get better with time. If you are having good and bad days I'd stick with the medicine. I know for me, it is always best to start out at the lowest possible dosage of a medicine and then increase slowly as my body adjusts to it. I'll bet if you stick it out the side effects will improve. It can take a good month to really get used to a new medicine. I'd give it at least three months to determine if it is something you want to stick with.

Hang in there with it if you can. By the third week of using Imipramine I was out of pain. The side effects were trembling, loss of some balance, sleepiness. They are all gone along with the pain. I take it 3 times a day.

I just had 7 days in a row where I felt great! However, not so much today...but I do believe the medication is starting to really work. The doc bumped me up a little over a week ago to 25mg, 3 times a day. So YAY!!!!
