Negative Hydroxyzine Reaction
Hello,
I took hydroxyzine last night for the first time, mainly because Ambien was giving me migraines. It was meant to help me sleep. I have also tried Elavil (for two nights awhile back). Both the hydroxyzine and Elavil aggravated my bladder more, so I slept even less than normal and was an absolute zombie on both medications. Has anyone had this experience at first or at all? I'm not sure if I should ditch the hydroxyzine because I can't afford to be so out of it all day, or keep trying it for a couple of days to see if it eventually makes a difference. I am really, really sleepless, and I need something to get some rest. I am throwing a birthday party for my daughter tomorrow and would like to feel good for it. Any of your stories about hydroxyzine would be helpful.
Thanks,
dawn

I was having trouble with Atarax at first, but my Urologist changed it so that I was taking only 1/2 of a 25mg tablet. My body has now adjusted to it and I can take a whole one if I need it. Frankly, I get more sleep with Valium, but it tends to give you the "bummers" if you are not careful.
Wishing you well on your journey.
God Bless

I can sleep with both medications but in the morning the pain is amazing.

Using Prelief with Sleep Meds?
Just another thought. My new urologist doesn't know what to do about my sleep issues, and suggested I try Tylenol PM tonight. I may take 2 prelief beforehand and I'm hoping it causes the Tylenol to not make my bladder symptoms worse. If it can work with food, maybe it will with this. Has anyone tried this?
Landish, I'm sorry for your morning pain..It must be frustrating to choose between a good night's sleep vs. pain or lack of sleep.

Honestly, I prefer getting up to pee!!!
If this medication is causing me pain it's because it's hurting my bladder.
