Need an allergy medicine.

So I can't breathe and sound like an 80 year old man when I talk. Not knowing any better, I took and Allegra-D a few nights ago, well, I'm still in a flare from it. I'm about to throw the IC rules out the window and just take something because I'm so miserable. I have terrible allergies, what do you guys take for your allergies, all of this is so confusing and I can't figure out what would be "safe" to take.

Thanks, I finally shook that cold, I took claritin, but I'm not sure it didn't make me flare. I took that allegra D almost a week ago and my bladder may still be made at me for taking it.

Red face

I use Nasonex for mine. I have them really bad in the spring and in the fall and winter. It even affects my bladder. So my URO put me on Vistaril for my bladder. Only thing with it is the weight gain I HATE that part of it. But it helps my bladder. So I guess I will keep taking it.

I have problems with any oral decongestant, which on the antihistmines with a decongestant is what the "D" stands for. If I get congested I have to use a nasal spray or just tough it out.

I have the same problem. I suffer from sever nasal congestion (sept - May) that progresses to migraines. There is nothing we can take, any of the OTC decongestants will cause a flare. I am trying to treat this with acupuncture, flonase and at night I wear breath right strips (which actually help the most) I have had only mild success and would love to hear what others are using

I'm taking Vistaril for my bladder. It has helped with my allergies. Could you have a sinus infection?

generic claritin & hydroxyzine

I take generic claritin in the morning for allergies (spring and fall). And then hydroxyzine in the evenings.

I have never had flares because of either of these. I don't take them every day though. I think they both help when I take them.
