can you get used to a dose of Elavil??

anyone out there have problems with getting used to a dose of Elavil and have to increase the amount you take??

I ask because I have been flaring up for a couple of weeks all of a sudden and had cramping & burning which I NEVER have; I went to a clinic where they said I had an infection but I am waiting for the culture results, I have a feeling it is going to be negative...

I have been doing GREAT until a couple of weeks ago, and can not figure out why - whether it was b/c of frequent BM's/day due to poor diet while traveling (fatty gross foods we don't normally eat causing tummy upset), or if it's my meds not working right...

It could be the traveling, the fatty foods, an infection. Only an IC patient would be happy if it's "JUST" an infection.

Hugs,
Donna

haha...thanks Donna...The doctor I saw at the clinic said it was showing a bit of infection present, but every dose I take of the antibiotic makes me feel worse than I did the night I got the prescription...I can hardly sleep, eat, function at all, the pain from the antibiotic is that bad...not even Pyridium helps
I am hoping it is just all that diet stuff and hormones causing me the grief, I'm hoping I can reach the clinic today and see if my culture came back yet...
