Just had a little melt down
Ugh!!! I hate IC!! I'm getting really stressed out.
As I've mentioned in the past I used up all of my paid time off at work. I applied for FMLA which I got of course, so basically this means if I'm flairing or if I have a dr's appt I can have time off of work and not fear losing my job but because I don't have any paid time off left I don't get paid. I have had flares so often lately that I was missing about 1 day during each two week pay period for the last couple of pay periods. When you get paid hourly and then they take out all the money for taxes and insurance missing a day really brings down your check. In my case it brings it down about a $100 bucks.
Obviously that started getting us behind right there. I had a Monday and Tuesday almost two weeks ago where I was so miserable that I couldn't go into work either day. So now this paycheck I get this Friday will actually have about $200 less in it than a normal paycheck. My MIL said that she would give us an extra $60 or $70 in addition to what she gives us for rent next week. It's really nice of her but it's not going to make up for what I'm not getting.
I am freaking out because bills are getting behind and I don't want to get in the hole. Well I have a whole bunch of stuff to sell, Griffin's old clothes and toys and stuff. I was going to have a yard sale sometime this summer anyway so the lack of money has modivated me to have one next Saturday to try to make up for the paycheck that will be really low.
Well of course the teenagers start bringing up all the toys from the basement that I put down there and Griffin starts having a fit because he doesn't want me to get rid of them. Of course he hasn't played with these toys in months and didn't know they were gone until they were brought up. So he starts crying and having a fit and I get stressed out and it just turns into a big mess. Hubby says I should do it while Griffin's asleep but he goes to sleep so late some nights that I want to go to bed by that time and I wanted to get it over with. Ugh!!! I hate that I HAVE to do this now to come up with extra money.
My mom said that they can probably help us out, they have no money problems whatsoever, BUT my father is a big butthead and if I ask for money he will make me feel like crap about it for a very long time and I already feel like crap about the fact that it's my fault that we're short on money.
Hubby said that we can sell the shot gun that he bought for hunting and has never actually gone hunting since he got it. He used to hunt with his dad alot when he was younger. He said we can take it back to the place that we got it from and he thinks we can get $100 for it. I feel really crappy that I have to have him sell it. He said that he wanted to get the boys (teenagers) our and hunting with him at some point. I guess we can sell it and then buy him another one that's less expensive in the future if he ever wants to go hunting.
I really hate all this crap. It's great that the FMLA is there but I think I'm going to have to go to work no matter what for the rest of the year to make sure that we don't go broke.
Alright, I have no idea if any of this even makes sense, but thanks for "listening"

Thanks Jess! I have already calmed down some. I stopped the yard sale stuff for the moment, Griffin is still running back out there and constantly changing the "one" toy he's going to keep. I'm making some cheapy pizzas for lunch and then hopefully Griffin will take a nap.
I hate having to worry about money!

I just recently went through some of Izzy's old stuff for a yard sale we are having on the 14th...well while I was going through it she kept taking old toys and putting them in her room! It was frustrating, and eventually at her nap time I did all the work and she'd forgotten all about them again. But jeez!

A Yard Sale might be a Great Idea...
I have to admit tho, if I were to do it again....I would have help....selling by yourself is taxing.....
You'd be surprised what people buy....I sold almost all my VHS movies at $1 ea. I made $50---one guy alone bought 40 of them yeeeeesh!
People bought old Martha Stewart "Living" Magazines...People bought my Old levi's that didn't fit me anymore.... Gosh its just amazing the crap people buy...weird candles, knick-knacks and bric-a-brac.....
I noticed people were more like to buy clothes when they were displayed rather than thrown in a box altogether....I had somebody buy my gently worn shoes....Oh I could go on
I agree Money problems suck....I've been there, jobless and unemployment checks were going to stop coming....and somehow things changed and I muddled thru, I think you'll be just fine.
hugs and good thoughts,
y.

Everything will work out! Try not to let the stress get the best of you. We've all been there and we've all managed to come out unscathed. Thats not to say its any fun while going through it. I remember the days of being strapped for money--somehow we managed.
Hope things settle down for you soon!

Thanks everybody! I'm not doing it ALL myself, the boys are helping me clean off the stuff that's all dirty from being down in the basement. I do have to do a lot of the pricing though.
That's a good idea about having everything displayed Yvette. I think that I have a thing that I could hang clothes up on maybe that will make them sell better.
My neighbor actually said to me that she wanted all of Griffin's old clothes because her son is a couple months younger and usually at least a size behind Griffin. She doesn't want to pay for them though because she's spoiled. I have given her just about ALL of Griffin's hand me down clothes from the time he started growing out of stuff. I told her that money was too tight right now and I just couldn't give them away, maybe she'll come up to buy some of them, I'll give her a good deal!
Ronda, I can't imagine filing for disability at this point. I think you actually have to be off work before you can apply. I'm not horrible everyday and I have always had more earning potential than hubby has. He knows that I may come to that point some day but I want to try to hold on as long as I can. I do like going to work too, I like my co-workers and my boss and my job. It's just all very frustrating

Oh thanks Donna! As long as I can pry some of the toys out of Griffin's hands, I should be okay! lol, he wants to keep just about everything, what in the world is a 3 year old going to do with an exersaucer! I think we're going to have to take him away during the yardsale so he doesn't freak out and cry the whole time. I have a lot of kids clothes to sell and a good amount of baby stuff, if I get a decent turn out I should be okay.

HI Christine! I SO feel for you! We had 3 garage sales last summer while we were moving here......OMG they are so taxing! My bladder flared big time by the end of the 3rd one. We were lucky that 2 friends had time to help us for each sale cause my husband had a bad case of poison Ivy.....what a mess!
Don't let people talk to you down in price....they'll be there an hr before the scheduled time on the signs you put out.....so be ready! We also had some jewlery stolen during the sale and we had it on the money table, right there in front of us!
As far as the money problems.....I CAN RELATE! I was on FMLA the last 5 weeks of school and now my check barely covers my insurance! UGH!!!!!! That will be the way it is till Oct! Money problems suck!
I hope you make lots of money at your sale and it helps you get out of your money crunch! Take care girl! Thinking of you! Roxie

I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!
