Angry I am Flaring Big Time

Pain, burning and frequency. I am sooooooo frustrated. This flare hit me in the middle of the night around 4am. I woke up with a a throbbing sensation in my bladder. I have spent the majority of the morning on the potty. Lots of pressure very little urine coming out accept for my sudden MS induced accidents. I have to wear depends all the time and I have had to make 4 or 5 changes since I woke up. It may be a uti. I probably shoud go to the uro tomorrow to find out. I also have a major leaking problem caused by the MS and it's sort of a mixed type of incontinence. Some days I dribble constantly. Some days I have pressure and retention. Other days it's a little bit of both.
Often times I can't tell If my it's MS or IC or copmbination of the two. Today it seems like it's both. I feel bad all over. I had to miss church this this morning and I really wanted to go. I have been missing a lot lately. I hate how these 2 diseases are interfering with my life. Living with MS bad enough IC just makes things even more complicated. My niece is getting married next Saturday and I really want to attend but I don't know if I am going to be able to. It's not fair I am only 42 and I feel like an invalid. Being sick and having to wear diapers is very frustrating. My body is failing me. I feel like my value as a wife and mother has been deminished greatly. I am sad, depressed and angry. Please everyone pray for me.

Do you have a UTI home test kit on hand? You might try checking for infection --- and if the test strip says "yes" --- I suggest you put in a call for your physician today. If your own doctor isn't on call, there should be someone on call for him over the weekend. An infection can progress a lot in a day so if that's the problem, you probably should pursue it today.

Warm healing thoughts,
Donna

Try to feel better. I'll pray for you. Maybe you can try 3-4 tums with water and an ice pack to take the edge off. I know how you feel, my body i failing on me too. My hormones are out of whack from overwhelming stress caused by my husband (major problems with alcohol and just generally, overall disrespectful ) . This has lead to my painful bladder and my hair is thinning and I just turned 25 So I understand the pain you feel!
God bless and all the best

I agree with Donna, I would pursue the infection thing today. I also know how that mixed incontinence with the MS is unbelievably frustrating. Some of my patients have used Baclofen for the spasms--have you tried it? I used it myself for a while for my own spasms and it worked well. I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs,
Barb

Just what I thought

It's a uti. I went to my uro today and the test showed positive. This is my2nd uti this year I had in late April. It took 2 weeks to get rid of. Ihope this one clears up a liitle quicker. At least an infection can be treated with the antibiotics. I still feel pretty lousy but my frequency has gone down a little.
I just want to say thanks to you ladies for your support and advice. This is a very friendly message board. I have really learned a lot about IC since joining here. For all of you are flaring I hope you all start feeling better real soon.

I'm so glad your pain is from infection --- only an IC patient would be happy about a UTI diagnosis!

Huuuugs,
