Guidelines For This Forum

The IC Network has always embraced the concept of spirituality because, clearly, faith can give great comfort to those who are struggling with IC. On our site, we have nearly every religion represented including christians, muslims, jewish, hindu, buddhist, agnostic, atheist, wiccan, pagan and more.

Unfortunately, 9/11 changed the religious support discussions in our message boards when, in the days after that tragedy, we had fundamentalist postings from several faiths blaming each other for the events of that sad day. This was completely unacceptable. Thus, we removed those religious discussions and created this one "spirituality" board where patients could embrace their faith but not cast aspersions on other religions.

For those unclear on the purpose of this board, let me offer what we're looking for:

- We welcome all postings which are encouraging and non-critical.
- We welcome all religious faiths but ask that your comments be non judgmental in nature.
- We welcome all postings that offer comfort to others.

- - We will not tolerate any negative comments about other religions.
- - We will not tolerate any statements which imply that IC is the result of sin and/or the lack of following any faith.
- - We will not tolerate postings which criticize patients for following their religious paths.

If you are looking for indepth religious discussion, you'll found a bounty of websites on the web that offer great support communities.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Jill
