question about hair loss
I have noticed a little bit of extra hair when Im combing it when wet or when drying it with a towel.
For those of you who had hair loss with Elmiron...was it just a few extra hairs here and there or was it in clumps?
I was supposed to have an apt with my hair stylist Friday, but didnt read my date book right and showed up two hrs late. It may be a few weeks before I see her. I was going to ask her if she noticed anything. Losing hair is my biggest fear with this medicine.
Thanks!

I felt like I lost some for the first few weeks. It was mostly just a little extra in the shower drain and in the brush, that kind of thing. I'm VERY happy to say that it stopped and my hairdresser says there isn't a noticeable difference from before. The hair loss is probably one of the greatest concerns, but I don't think it affects that many people taking Elmiron.

I noticed significant hair loss...though it came out in just strands, it began adding up and I had a few bald spots. Elmiron didn't work for me anyway, so I didn't have to worry about balding for too long!

I had hair loss too...but enough to stop Elmiron. Give it some more time, the sympotms might go away.
Good luck.

Hi,
Still have all of the hair on my head, but I don't have a single eyelash. Weird, huh?? They started falling out when I began taking Elmiron a couple of years back and haven't grown back! I just wear stick-on eyelashes and never worry about smeared mascara!!

I had some hair loss in the beginning, but it stopped and the hair grew back. According to my doc the hair loss can just as well be from the stress...

I used to have fairly thick hair, and a lot of it, prior to the Elmiron now I have thin hair and it falls out in strands in the showers, sometimes even mini clumps.
I started taking Anacaps, and they have made my hair a bit stronger, and I'm going to take Biotin as well to see if that helps, so I'd suggest those two supplements if you're having any hair loss.
The hair loss does vary but it does indeed suck. My hair is to my tail bone so it's gonna take forever to grow those strands back to that length : (

I have lost some of my hair. My hair was long when I started Elmiron. I found I lost less hair after I cut it above my shoulders. I also have other meds. that cause hair loss. It has slowed down but I still have times when I loose some hair.

I just lost a few extra strands, but found that taking biotin has helped me. I take 2000mcg. daily. I also switched to an all natural shampoo from the healthfood store with no sodium laurel sulfate in it. liz
