Pain-Rx
 everyone,
My husband found a pain medicine that really helped me. I was skeptical at first but I am so glad that I finally took it....It is called Pain-Rx and today was the first day that I have been without since my 6 yr old's kindergarten Valentines' party. Now I know that I am still flaring because the medicine is starting to wear off now and I am about to take some more. I wanted to share this with all of you, because I know that many of us are in pain on a daily basis. I was actually able to go with my husband and kids to Mr. Gatti's (a pizza parlor with a huge game room) and eat a salad, baked potato, and then play with the kids for 3 hours. After that we went to Walmart for groceries and I still didn't start to have any pain until now, 2 hours after we got home.
The following is a list of what herbs are in this medicine. It is an herbal medicine, so I may be jumping the gun, but I haven't felt this good in a long time and I just couldn't keep it to myself...
Supplement Facts
serving size: 2 tables servings per container: 45
Proprietary Blend with Explotab Technology 600 mg
Paullina Tomentosa Extract (leaves), Chiococca Alba Extract (leaves), Mimosa Pudica (whole plant) Extract, Phellodendron Amurense Extract (bark), Sactuca Virosa Extract (leaves), White Willow 90% Extract (bark), Tumeric Extract (rhizome), Valerian Extract (root), Boswellia Extract (resin/gum), Naringen (fruit), 6-7 Dihydroxybergamottin (fruit), Yerba Mate Extract (leaves).
Other Ingredients: Microcrystalline Cellulose, Dextrose, Sodium Starch Glycolate, Magnesium Stearate, Stearic Acid, Silica, Carnauba Wax
Pain-Rx "Revolutionary"Quick Acting" COX-2 Inhibitor"
Directions: take 2 tablets up to 3 times daily. do not exceed 6 tablets daily.
These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to treat, cure, diagnose or prevent any disease.
I am also going to post this on the pain management boards. I don't know if this will work for everyone or if it will end up causing a flare, but I am hoping that it will help me and many others for long term use. (I have problems with many perscription pain killers and my allergies...)
ok, i had it in the pain management boards but for some reason someone deleted it...hope anyone that wants to see this can find it here....

The only ingredient I'm really familiar with is valerian, which gave me a very unpleasant reaction. I took some as a sleep aid --- it definitely made me sleep --- scared my husband to death because he couldn't wake me up. Since then I avoid anything with that ingredient.
I'm glad it's working for you.

The Yerba Mate in this might possibly have an stimulant effect the Valerian. Of course, it all depends on the amounts one takes anyway.
Valerian is also quite stinky!
I take a supplement called Zyflamend which also has turmeric in it, which I plan to post about in the next week in the pain management and Alternative Therapies boards.
Thank you, Kari, for the recommendation. If I can find a small bottle of it, I might give it a try.

Just wanted to give an update. I have been pretty much pain-free since I started taking the Pain-Rx. I also talked with 2 diffrent drs and they both agree that if it is helping then to keep taking it. Atleast now I am off most of the narcotics...My Uro said that with all my meds there should be no reactions (I will give a list at the bottom) and that if I do start having some kind of reaction to let him know...Haven't had any so far (other than the ones I was having from the other meds...hair loss, insomnia...) Hope this is able to help anyone that takes it...
Meds for IC:
Elmiron 3 x/day 100 mg
Amitriptyline 1 x/day 50 mg
Tramadol for pain if needed (havent taken in over 2 weeks)
Sonata 1 x/day as needed 10 mg (for insomnia)
Prelief as needed
Misc. meds:
Zoloft 1 x/day 50 mg (for depression/anxiety)
Dolgic Plus 1 every 4-6 hours for migraine if needed
Poly-Iron 1 x/day 150 mg for anemia
Benadryl 1 or 2 every 4-6 hours for alergies
Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo (do I really need to explain this one...lol)
daily kids multi vitamin
Current meds for cold and infections...:
Histatab 2 x/day for nose
Clotrimazole 5 x/day for yeast infection (pain in the *** infection that wont go away)
Probiotics 2 per day (as strong as I could find...)
Nasacourt 1 spray up each nosrtil each day....
Cough Syrup (can't remember the name...but take it every 4-6 hours)
Cough Drops about 10 per hour...really need to get rid of this....
I think I need to find a bigger drawer to put these in...it is getting a little full....(have to use a drawer with a child lock, my 2 yr old really likes to stick everything that looks like medicine in his mouth...guess I need to find a diffrent way to give him his daily vitamin...)
hope this helps. talk to you all soon.

Kari,
What are your symptoms? The reason I ask is because I have a swollen urethra feeling. or irritation, right at the bladder neck. No real urgency/frequency. Did you have this & did it help this symptom?
Thanks!

Re: Pain RX
Well, in all of the posts you did not tell us where your husband found this product or how he came to know about it. Is it possible to share this information? Am glad that it is working for you.

I have ureatral pain(irritation, burning sometimes swelled feeling), bladder spasms (constantly due to adhessions), plus I have frequency, urgency, and a problem getting to the bathroom in time. It has helped with the pain better than any meds I have tried. As for the other stuff...well it didnt really help with those, we are discussing an interstim for that right now...At this point I am possibly going to have up to 4 surgeries in the next few months...2 for the interstim (maybe...insurance is being a pain, took my doctor off the list) and possibly 2 more for another Lap. and Hysterectomy (gonna see if he will just do one...if he wants to do the hyst) I keep getting adhessions between my bladder and uterus and we think this time they are attaching my ovaries too. That is what we think is causing part of the problems...go to my gynocologist the end of this month to see if and when we will see what is all attached....I can still feel my bladder (hubby smelt it...it really stinks...and got some on his nose the first day and the tip was numb for hours) but the spasms and pain have eased up more than I ever expected...
Hubby says that it should be at GNC although not sure on the price(if it isnt there ask and see if they will order it for you or if they will get some in soon...). It is a clear bottle with greenish-brown pills, has a white lid and purple and blue lable, with Pain-Rx written in big white letters. You may alwo be able to call the company to see if you can get a sample, not sure but worth a try. It is made by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals (cant believe I forgot to put that in...sorry) My hubby found it thru a friend that is a distributor for Hi-Tech, when he told him what was going on the friend said let her try this it may help.
I decided to take it over a long weekend when hubby was off (just in case I had a reaction and needed to head for the hospital) and I have only had pain when I forgot to take it, fell (I am really clumsy, lol), or when my 2 yr old decided it would be funny to kick mommy in the tummy (usually while changing diapers...grrrrrr). I did have a really intense pain last weekend in my pelvic area (think I pulled a muscle trying to get up off the floor....smacking myself in the forehead) but it went away soon after I took my medicine. At this point, unless I get hurt, I only take it at night and in the morning. I am still able to function without any problems (unless insomnia is acting up, so I got less than my normal 4 hours the night before) You can take it up to 3 times a day, but since it is in my system I dont have to take it in the afternoon usually. (as long as I havent hurt myself...) As for the flare, I have been in a constant one since the Kindergarten Valentines' Party and this is the first medicine that has relieved all my pain.
Hope this answers your questions (sorry it took so long to answer some of them-we have 4 new kittens and 2 of them are being bottle fed every couple of hours now so I finally had time to check in) If you have anymore I promise to reply sooner...or at least try to....

it took me about two hrs to find out that Paullina Tomentosa Extract (leaves),is Medicinal Action and Uses---Digitalis has been used from early times in heart cases. It increases the activity of all forms of muscle tissue, but more especially that of the heart and arterioles, the all-important property of the drug being its action on the circulation. The first consequence of its absorption is a contraction of the heart and arteries, causing a very high rise in the blood pressure.
After the taking of a moderate dose, the pulse is markedly slowed. Digitalis also causes an irregular pulse to become regular. Added to the greater force of cardiac contraction is a permanent tonic contraction of the organ, so that its internal capacity is reduced, which is a beneficial effect in cases of cardiac dilatation, and it improves the nutrition of the heart by increasing the amount of blood.
In ordinary conditions it takes about twelve hours or more before its effects on the heart muscle is appreciated, and it must thus always be combined with other remedies to tide the patient over this period and never prescribed in large doses at first, as some patients are unable to take it, the drug being apt to cause considerable digestive disturbances, varying in different cases. This action is probably due to the Digitonin, an undesirable constituent.
The action of the drug on the kidneys is of importance only second to its action on the circulation. In small or moderate doses, it is a powerful diuretic and a valuable remedy in dropsy, especially when this is connected with affections of the heart.
It has also been employed in the treatment of internal haemorrhage, in inflammatory diseases, in delirium tremens, in epilepsy, in acute mania and various other diseases, with real or supposed benefits.
The action of Digitalis in all the forms in which it is administered should be carefully watched, and when given over a prolonged period it should be employed with caution, as it is liable to accumulate in the system and to manifest its presence all at once by its poisonous action, indicated by the pulse becoming irregular, the blood-pressure low and gastro-intestinal irritation setting in. The constant use of Digitalis, also, by increasing the activity of the heart, leads to hypertrophy of that organ.
Chiococca Alba Extract (leaves),idney troubles, menstrual cramps, flatulence, aphrodisiac, venereal disease, skin sores, cough, bronchitis, laryngitis, asthma, emmenagogue, snakebite, rheumatism, purgative, abortifacient, diuretic, edema, swollen legs/feet, febrifuge, tonic or tea, delayed menstruation, constipation, alcoholism, nervousness, dementia, depression, witchcraft, mal de ojo, Mayan "thinking herb" as a general cure-all when unsure of illness.
evergreen climbing shrub of southern Florida and West Indies grown for its racemes of fragrant white to creamy flowers followed by globose white succulent berries
Mimosa Pudica (whole plant) Extract, Anti-depressant, analgesic, anodyne, anthelminthic; anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, proteinase inhibitor. Phellodendron Amurense Extract (bark),anti inflamatory
Lactuca Virosa Extract (leaves), Nervine, anodyne, hypnotic, anti-spasmodic.
Wild Lettuce is a valuable remedy for use in insomnia, restlessness and excitability (especially in children) and other manifestations of an over active nervous system. As an anti-spasmodic it can be used as part of a holistic treatment of whooping cough and dry irritated coughs in general. It will relieve colic pains in the intestines and uterus and so may be used in dysmennhorea. It will ease muscular pains related to rheumatism. It has been used as an anaphrodisiac. and mild seditive.
White Willow 90% Extract (bark)salicylic acid also know as asprine Natural salicylic acid is nearly as potent as aspirin, however, the compound salicin from willow does not cause gastric or intestinal upset or bleeding as aspirin can, This is because willow does not block prostaglandins in the stomach or intestines. ,
Tumeric Extract (rhizome) Turmeric is a plant (Curcuma longa), native to South India and Indonesia. Its tuberous rhizomes have been used from antiquity as a condiment, as a textile dye, and medically as an aromatic stimulant. Turmeric is a common ingredient in Indian food, such as curry powder, and yellow mustard. Curcumin is found in the spice turmeric root. Curcumin contains curcumunoids (including curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxy-curcumin) which are powerful antioxidants. Turmeric in Latin is Curcuma longa. The roots of the turmeric plant are used as an herb in Asian cooking such as curries. Curcumin is the major component of Turmeric (Curcuma longa) and extensive scientific research on curcumin has demonstrated its potent antioxidant properties. Through its antioxidant mechanisms, curcumin supports colon health, exerts neuroprotective activity and helps maintain a healthy cardiovascular system.anti inflamatory
, Valerian Extract (root)mild sedatives and sleep aids for nervous tension and insomnia.
, Boswellia Extract (resin/gum)anti-inflammatory that can be used in ointments to ease joint pain. Boswellia extract can also be taken internally as an anti-inflammatory agent, much like NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents), such as aspirin and ibuprofen, which are commonly used to treat pain. However, unlike NSAIDs, boswellia extract can be used for significant periods of time without causing stomach upset.
In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, boswellia extract is said to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. Practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine also use boswellia extract to promote a general sense of wellness and as a mild sedative. Numerous clinical trials have found that the herb is also effective in treating asthma, Chrohn’s disease, and colitis.,
Naringen (fruit)a citrus flavanoid commonly found in grapefruit, and is responsible for grapefruit's distinctive bitter taste. Most of us have heard how it's important to be careful consuming grapefruit juice along with certain medications studies reveal that naringen interferes with some digestive enzymes which can affect the metabolism and breakdown of these drugs. This can in effect lead to an inadvertantly higher dose of the drug, which may pose the threat of adverse reactions in some cases.Naringen has also been shown to exhibit cholesterol-lowering effects which is always a good thing for dieters. It's also an aldose reductase inhibitor, which means it may also have a role to play battling retinal disease in diabetics.it is a stimulant used to burn fat and can interupt digestive enzymes., 6-7 Dihydroxybergamottin (fruit)Grapefruit juice inhibits the metabolism of substrates for enzymes of the CYP3A subfamily. However, the identity of the inhibitor has not been established. Grapefruit juice was extracted into methylene chloride and chromatographed by HPLC, and the effect of the HPLC eluent on CYP3A activity was assessed by measuring 6beta-hydroxytestosterone formation in rat liver microsomes. Significant inhibition was associated with a fraction of HPLC eluent containing a single peak, with a retention time of 16 min. The substance producing this peak was isolated using TLC and identified, using NMR and MS, as 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin (C21H2406; molecular weight, 372), a furanocoumarin (psoralen) compound. The concentration of 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin required to inhibit 6beta-hydroxytestosterone formation by 50% was 25 microM. Grapefruit juice reduced CYP3A activity to a significantly greater extent (p < 0.05) than did orange juice, which contained no measurable 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin (28.6% vs. 62.2% of control activity). The addition of 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin (30 microM) to orange juice decreased CYP3A activity to values comparable to those observed with grapefruit juice. 6',7'-Dihydroxybergamottin is a potent inhibitor of CYP3A activity, accounts for the difference in inhibition between grapefruit juice and orange juice in vitro, and may be primarily responsible for the effects of grapefruit juice on cytochrome P450 activity in humans.
, Yerba Mate Extract (leaves)Yerba Mate’ “tea” is drunk to alleviate fatigue, suppress appetite, stimulate body and mind, and boost metabolism. Yerba mate’ also demonstrates 5-lipoxygenase inhibitory activity, which makes the herb of use in some cases of mild to moderate asthma. Over the past few years, extracts of Yerba mate’ have shown up in the dietary supplement market for weight loss.
Yerba mate’ contains over 250 known natural compounds, most notably the alkaloids caffeine, theophylline and theobromine. These agents promote central nervous stimulation, and act as diuretics, causing the body to shed water. Additionally, caffeine, theophylline and theobromine appear to suppress appetite, and boost metabolism. This makes Yerba mate’ an ideal agent in the fight against unwanted fat. .
Other Ingredients: Microcrystalline Cellulose binder, Dextrose Better known today as glucose, this sugar is the chief source of energy in the body. Glucose is chemically considered a simple sugar, Sodium Starch Glycolate potato starch for taste, Magnesium Stearate stabizer, Stearic Acid fat, Silica stablizer, Carnauba Wax binder
I would caution if you have yeast cause the dextrose.

Hi Kdfurgi- I ordered the PainRx from a distributor for HiTech. it was only 9.50 a bottle. I hope it works to reduce the urethral burning, but I can be awake to continue working, and attempt to enjoy life. thanks for telling us, Is it still working for you? Aileen

that looks like a lot of work loro!! the yeast is from being on antibiotics for 2 months and now I am having problems getting rid of it (my doc just sent off a culture to see what it shows because he thinks it may not be yeast). it has gotten better, even with the dextrose, we just cant seem to get it completely gone...
Aileen, I am glad that you were able to get it so cheap...gonna have to talk to tony about my price, lol...it has helped with my pain more than I would have expected (and believe me, the pain should have taken over my life in the last month because of stress....) I am finally able to spend time with the kids again without wondering if I am gonna hurt. I can also say that it will not make you tired all the time- since Sunday I have been taking care of 1 and then 2 (found the second on Monday) kittens that needed to be bottle fed for a few days because they were so weak. At this point they are lapping up kitten formula soaked kitten food, so I can finally get some sleep...
if I can fall asleep (doc gave me lunesta yesterday to see if it will help) so mom is watching the kids tonight and tomorrow (her day off) maybe I can get some sleep and not be an insomniac anymore!!!!! I may be out of it tomorrow (havent taken lunesta before, and not sure of its effects) so if I dont answer your questions I will as soon as I get back on. talk to you all soon.

You might look into some stevia it is suposed to help regualte sugar. It taste good too. Anyway glad you got some relief I might have to look into trying some of these herbs out myself.
Be well
