I am homesick
Hi everyone!
I miss my Husband, Kitties, and Bunny. I am thinking of returning to Central NY next weekend. I am eating and drinking normally, actually more than I normally do. With my first cystectomy I had some diarhea as I do with this reconstruction so I am not ready to ride back home yet. This is part of the reason I wanted to just stay put until it was time to have my tubes removed but it will be, all said and done 6 to 7 weeks from the day of surgery until I can go back to NYC. I'm surprisingly, not in much pain. It's just surgery pain. I am not taking any pain killers unless I absolutely need them and the only time that has happened was once when we drove home, other than that I am not needing the Vicoden. I will be so happy when I am settled down. The family that I am staying with is awesome! My Grandmother is with me and will be staying with me until this is over. Wendy has come to see me many times and this has helped tremendously. She is going to try to come out to visit me this weekend. I just want to curl up with my my oldest Maine Coon, Ghengus and get a good sleep. I would love to be in my own bed although I am not sure how I would be able to sleep in it as I have tubes coming out of both sides of me and a twin bed is more appropriate, but I don't have a twin anyway, so we'll have to figure something out when I get home. I want to curl up with my Husband and tell him how much I love him and how happy I am to be his Wife. I even look foward to hearing my nieghbors argue.
So hopefully 2 weeks here and then 3 weeks at home and then back here again for post-op trial of my new life. We can stay here as long as it takes for me to be comfortable to learn how to catheterize my stoma. I hope it does not take too long. I am rambling on and on here but this is the place for me to let out my feelings so here they are.
I miss my home.
Kara Lynn

Unrelated to my Indiana Pouch and Urethrectomy, which were very successful and have improved my quality of life to a much better degree, I’ve also been diagnosed with a very painful condition known as Pudendal Nerve Entrapment, with Vestibulodynia. It's a very poorly understood condition that could have been treated years ago had we known what it was. I think it's a good sign that you are homesick. If someone is in too much pain, I would think that would be all they could think about!
I hope your recovery goes well and you're back home again soon!

Of course you do. Home is where I most want to be, especially when I am not feeling well. I do hope all the traveling you are talking about doing now won't be too difficult on you.
Saying extra prayers for you...

Kara,
It is really nice to hear from you. I am glad that you continue to write and give us updates on your progress. I think Amy is right about being homesick.
Besides, I always miss my pets when I am away too!!!
You'll be home soon and have a new life.
Hugs,
Wendi
