That toilet with the "instructions" is a hoot, but it's necessary  . A lot of people in 3rd world countries (and some not-so-third world countries) use what a friend calls "squat and jump" - those holes in the floor with a space on either side for your feet. Actually, they're not so hard to use, and many people think they are more sanitary than sit-down toilets, because only the bottoms of your shoes come into contact with the toilet. Some restrooms have both types of toilets, so you can pick the type you're used to. One thing is for sure: most countries don't have nearly enough public toilets!
