Also TTC
Hey guys! I haven't been on here in a long while. I have been keeping everything under check with Elavil and occasionally pain meds.
I plan on stopping Elavil when trying to concieve. Has anyone here stopped taking Elavil when trying to concieve? If so, what did you use in the interim to stop the bladder pain? Any help you can give is appreciated! Thank you!

Medicines:
Synthroid 125 mcg
Allegra
Hydrocodone (when needed)
Prosed DS (expensive!!!)
Elavil (generic) ~12.5mg going to 25mg
elevated liver enzymes on Elmiron so Elmiron is no more........
Elavil has given me back my life. I still have flare ups now and again and instills help with those. Currently I am having instills of heparin and marcaine.

hi sbelle474, I was actually allowed to use Elavil while TTC and during my pregnancy, as well as tylenol arthritis 3x/day...my doctor spoke to a neonatal team first to ensure its safety and all, and got me to call Motherisk at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Kids (in Canada) and checked things out with them...also talked to my OB/GYN about use during breastfeeding, and she also said it's not a problem...
this is what was ok'd for me, but ultimately it is up to you and your doctor(s), but the Motherisk team are a wonderful bunch with a wealth of knowledge on all medications, OTC items, you name it...
where are you located? Canada or US?

I am currently TTC and quit taking Elavil. I am currently in pain and hope to get pregnant soon. I remember with my son I basically went into remission with my IC and my Endo. I honestly didnt realize how much the Elavil was actually working until I quit taking it!
Good Luck!
