My daughter and new grandbaby to be
Please say a prayer for the new little baby girl, Makenna Ann that will be joining our family someday next week, hopefully Monday. Our daughter is going to be induced on Monday because the Dr. feels the baby is getting real big and my daughter is due Sept. 3rd.
My daughters blood test a couple of weeks ago came back positive for Group B strep so they are going to try to get 2 bags of antibiotics into her before the baby is born. They may have to give the baby antibiotics also. I understand this can be quite serious to the baby without the antibiotics so we are praying all will go well.Jolene

Saying a prayer right now!
Kim
Diagnosed August 2001
Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)
Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)
My IC story: http://www.ic-network.com/patientstories/kim.html It's very outdated now. I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the prayers. Well yesterday turned into today before she had the baby, a long 23 hour labor.
Makenna Ann was born at 8:25 am this morning and weighed in at 8 pounds, 12 ounces. I don't have a length yet.
Laurie was 10-11 from her due date of Sept. 3rd. Although an ultrasound about a week and a half ago showed that the baby weighed approx. 6 pounds, 4 ounces, the Dr. just felt that the baby seemed bigger than that and rather than risk a very large baby she felt it was better to induce.
Well needless to say, the Dr. was very glad that she did induce when this baby came out as big as she did. Her words were " Well the sonogram tech missed this one." Because of how big she was, her shoulders got caught and another Dr. had to push on her stomach to help get the baby out. Due to that there is a chance that one of her clavicles is broken. They will x-ray it later today. It will heal if that has happened.
One of the neatest things with all of this was I was able to have a discussion with her gyno out in the family room that led to talk about IC. She asked me if I had tried Elmiron. I thought this is great that we are seeing more Dr.s knowing about IC. She knew a lot about it.
So I am going to try to get some rest and get a shower before I go pick up GD from school and take her to see her new sister.
